User Experience Architect

Description:
Reporting to the Director of Client Services, the User Experience Architect is responsible for helping the project teams and clients shape and define the look, feel, usability and accessibility of their web based solutions. Working closely with the design and development teams, you will lead User Experience projects and advise on usability best practices. You are the right person for this job if you: Care about both form and function and can produce top quality documentation including schematics, layouts and wireframes; Are detail oriented and are only satisfied when products are bug free and function as designed; Can communicate your work to production team members clearly and constructively; Are attentive to user needs and responsive to project feedback; Are passionate about online technology and social media; Have a sound understanding of user behavior and the ability to translate this into creative solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Provide a UI and UX direction to the cross-functional project teams, leading the design of the information architecture and user interface.
• Work with project teams to design an optimal user experience by translating project requirements into engaging concepts.
• Help define user experience strategy, UI requirements and project scope .
• Gather functional and user requirements.
• Create prototypes and requirement/specification documents, navigational structures.
• Develop flow diagrams, wireframes and site maps.
• Work with designers and developers to translate wireframes into prototypes and complete visual compositions.
• Help create user profiles and scenarios.
• Planning and executing focus groups and usability tests.
• Communicate user centered design objectives and goals to project teams.
• Act as a user experience advocate and thought-leader regarding principles of user experience and user-centered design .
• Push the boundaries of what's possible to create superior user experiences.
• Stay current in the UX, design and social media fields.

Qualifications:
• Ideally a strong background in User Experience / Interaction and Visual Design, Information Architecture and Human Computer Interaction.
• Experience working on web and mobile platforms .
• Minimum of 2-3 years of industry experience .
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with ability to articulate rationale behind concepts.
• Proven ability to deliver high quality interaction designs to customers/stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
• Must be able to work independently and build strong relationships with functional team partners.
• Ability to collaborate in a visual manner with graphic interface designers.
• Knowledge of industry standards, web technologies and user behaviour.
• Strong understanding of web development and design constraints/possibilities.
• Superb problem-solving skills in coming up with fresh and practical solutions.
• Highly developed planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial team.
• Eagerness to learn new methods and technologies and keep up to date on the latest trends and methodologies.
• Ability to innovate on processes, tools and conventions.
